Like Cures Like

The foundation of homeopathy comes from the belief that "Like cures like." Hahnemann was a pharmacist in the late 1700s who saw that people with malaria were being treated with Cinchona. curious, he tried Cinchona bark substance on himself and noticed that it was producing the same episodic fever, that was seen in cases of malaria. This lead him to this notion of "like cures like," which pushed him to further study homeopathy. This can also be seen with Rhus Toxicodendron, also referred to as Poison Ivy, which is used to treat itchy eruptions and with swelling and burning pains, which are the same symptoms that poison ivy produces in healthy individuals. This finding was a breaking point for homeopathy, and is what helped lead us to this great curative art. Knowing this, however, is not enough. It is always important to see a licensed homeopath before using any homeopathic remedies.
